Scar Camoflauge

Male pattern baldness is characterised by a receding hairline and hair loss on the top and front of the head in several common patterns measured by the Norwood scale. It is usually caused by genetics, age or hormones, these factors contribute to the gradual shrinking of the scalp hair follicles.

There is no cure for male pattern baldness. However, it tends to progress slowly, from several years to decades. An earlier age of onset may lead to quicker progression. Hair loss can have a negative psychological impact. It can be associated with low self-esteem, depression, introversion, and feelings of unattractiveness.

Male pattern hair loss affects nearly all men at some point in their lives. It affects different populations at different rates, probably because of genetics. Up to half of male Caucasians will experience some degree of hair loss by age 50, and possibly as many as 80% by the age of 70.
